Defined Tag:
When fishing for a specific fish, it helps to know what it takes to catch them. You need to know what baits and lures work, you need to know how that fish behaves, and you have to know where that fish lives. When brook trout fishing, you certainly have to have all the right information or you simply won’t be successful. Consider a couple of tips that may help you with your brook trout fishing next time you are out.

In a lot of ways, brook trout fishing is not unlike rainbow trout fishing. The best lures for trout are spinners. If live bait is your cup of tea, brook trout is usually most successful with worms, May flies, or grasshoppers. Make sure you try at least a couple of them if you are not getting bites initially.

If none of those options work for brook trout, you can always try a dough. Many bait shops now sell trout dough. This smelly bait is easy to transport and is often very effective when brook trout fishing. A small ball of the smelly dough will often net you a successful trip to the river.

What about other equipment? When going after brook trout, just make sure you have a hook the fish can bite. There are trout hooks you can buy, and they are going to work just fine. If you have done a lot of river fishing, then you can use whatever hook you have always used for any type of trout.

Trout fishing is not always easy. However, with the right information you can certainly make it easier than it might be otherwise. Consider trying out spinner lures and live bait that is made up of natural bugs. When all else fails, though, there is always the trout dough. Whatever method you choose, though, make sure you have the right hooks and have fun.
