Fishing Gear You Have to Have
LuredtoFishing.com

Fishing gear varies greatly. With that fact out there, you need to make sure that you can separate what you need from what you may want from what is completely useless. This requires educating yourself about gear versus fishing needs. Here is a little bit of information about gear you may really need.

Obviously the most important piece of fishing gear is the rod. What type do you need, though? The best thing for a beginner is to head to an outdoor sporting goods store and look for something in the middle price ranges. Fishing gear from discount stores is almost always inferior, and the sale staff is usually not as knowledgeable. Look for something that will be comfortable for you.

To go with your rod, the next piece of gear you need is a real. You need something that will match your rod and that will function for your needs. Talk to a salesperson about what type of water you are fishing in and what type of fishing you are going to do.

Next, your gear should definitely include lures. Look for lures based on the time of year, weather, and the type of fish you are after. Ask locals what is working in their area if you want the real skinny, though. Fishing information is most effectively spread through word of mouth.

Finally, make sure you get fishing line. Get the right line for size of fish and type. You also need fishing line that will work in the type of water you are fishing in.

As you can see, there is a lot of fishing gear that you do actually need. Once you have the gear that is necessary, you can finally start looking at what you want as well. Add as you get more experience, but to start, just make sure you get the fishing gear you need for the fishing you will do.
