Smallmouth Bass: Yellow Mr twisters, Rebel crayfish and a red/white lazy Ike or flatfish. Black rooster tails work very good as well.
I just found out last night how deadly tube baits are.
Motor oil, green and pumpkin. Caught well over 20 smallies.
Catfish: fresh chicken liver or nightcrawlers
Fished from Coxton Yards to Great Bend and every where in between for the past 35 years.

We used to slay em on Rebel Crayfish. They make numerous sizes and colors, but they all worked. A white buzz bait during a whitefly hatch can be a blast! Motor oil and chartreuse twisters too.
For cats Chicken livers or shrimp always worked for us.
