I was fishing off the coastal waters of Florida when my first mate John brought out the Scooby Doo set up. The size and proporation were excellent for my matey. Rrrrrr…..he caught a marlin.

Got this for my 5 year old son so that we could take up fishing together. I didn’t want to buy him a full size pole and this one was just the right size. Also, one of his favorite characters of all time is Scooby Doo, so, obviously this was the choice. Sometimes, I wish I would have bought one of these for me because it is so easy to use.

Bought this pole for our son’s first fishing experience…despite my husband’s expensive gear, the Scooby Doo pole was the ONLY one to actually catch anything that day! And what a catch! 16″ rainbow trout (to be named Barney) on the first time out. We’ve told this story over and over, and the Scooby Doo fishing pole is now infamous. Highly recommend it!

This is a great beginner rod for small kids. We bought it for our 5-year-old daughter for Christmas and she loves it. It looks like a toy from the outside but it really works like a full-fledged rod and reel. Within minutes my kids were casting it 20-30 feet into the lake. You can attach real hooks and bait to it, but my kids like casting the little orange plastic fish it comes with just as much. Unfortunately we haven’t caught any real fish yet.

Bought this for my 2.5 yo. We’ll use it again next summer. We have landed many a bluegill with this thing with no problems. My son can real it nicely (I still cast…maybe next year he can).
If the line gets tangled inside the reel, I’ll probably just throw it away, but no problems yet and it’s waiting paitently in the closet.
