My sister is an artist looking for older wooden fishing lures because she makes custom necklaces and bracelets and these tend to fit very well and people like them. She said that the best sized lures which she’s seen are called “poppers,” and the age of them doesn’t matter too much but most wood lures are older.
Some of them on places like E-bay seem to be in very good condition and demand a higher price, but they don’t need to be in good condition- in fact the weathered ones tend to look better. Where is a good place to find older wooden fishing lures that don’t even need to be in good condition?

flea markets and yard sales. anywhere else is going to want to charge top dollar and many of these are worth up into the hundreds of dollars. there is considerable competition among lure collectors.
go to a fishing pier or somewhere and look around in the roof on the floor under it usually people get snaged on them and have to cut the line and they are usually old sometimes ill find like 3 in one day most stores dont sell them becuase people want to use the newest and uptodate lures around and i cant blame them they usually work but u can get them easily on amazon or e-bay

You might contact a company that deals in fishing stuff or even a magazine about fishing. Also you might look around at antiques shops.
There is a guy I know who makes and replicates old fishing lures.
He also has a great collection of old ones. Here is his e-mail address.

If you have a flea market near by try it the one close to where I live has a lot of old fishing gear.
I find a lot at yard or garage sales and get them fairly cheap too.
